Manufacturing Technician Program
SUNY Corning Community College’s Manufacturing Technician Program is designed to give students the practical skills and fundamental knowledge necessary to succeed in local industry. Helping meet increased Workforce demand and fostering economic growth in the Southern Tier of New York.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
This program is completely free, thanks to the New Energy New York grant.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for the program, students must be 18 years of age, have a High school diploma or GED.
Once online application is complete, students are required to meet in person with the Program Coordinator to assess program suitability before starting.

Meet the Team!


Dan Nightingale
Dan Nightingale is our Assistant Director and Instructor for the Manufacturing Technician Program here at SUNY CCC. Dan is a experienced Control Systems and Software Engineer who spent 17 years at Corning Incorporated’s Sullivan Park Research Facility. Throughout his tenure there, he developed custom applications for automated data acquisition, reduction, analysis, presentation & storage. His technical journey began with a four-year vocational program in high school, followed by 11 years in the U.S. Navy as an Electronics Technician supervising Air Traffic Control Radar Systems and instructing in Micro-Miniature Electronics Repair. Dan’s academic excellence is marked by dual Associate degrees in Electrical Technology and Opto-Electronics from SUNY Corning Community College—graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA—and a B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Beyond his industrial contributions to Corning’s Characterization Sciences and flat panel glass programs, Dan has dedicated 15 years to academia as an Adjunct Professor to Full Time Professor in Electrical Technology at SUNY Corning Community College. Teaching has become his "red-thread," a core passion that allows him to translate complex problem-solving into mentorship. Driven by the philosophy that any obstacle can be overcome through sheer persistence, he finds his greatest reward in showing others how to navigate technical challenges and refuse to quit.
Adam Switzer
Adam Switzer is our Recruiter for the Manufacturing Technician Program here at SUNY CCC. With over 7 years Teaching in Further Education, 5 years in Community Education and over 2 decades of Coaching experience, Adam has a rich history of helping people develop personally and professionally. Adam is focused on recruiting new and potential students, growing the reputation of the already successful program, creating new opportunities within the Manufacturing field, whilst opening doors to their next steps.
